Why I Will Never Convert to Islam

Some purveyors of multiculturalism say all cultures are of equal value. I disagree. There are some cultures that are so damaging to humankind that they should be allowed to wither on the vine and die. The current tacit acceptance of terrorism and violence puts Islam on the list. Here are some reasons why I would rather die than become a Muslim:

Terrorism in the name of Islam

Attitude of supremacy of Muslims

Clear direction in Koran to kill “infidels” (like me)

Lack of equality for women

Lack of respect for women (the testimony of two women is equal to that of one man)

Acceptance of beating as an appropriate treatment of the wife

Glorification of violence and death

Training children to hate and kill

Extreme bigotry against Jews

Bigotry against Christians

Bigotry against believers of anything except Islam

Taking offense against anything that ‘offends’ Islam

Taquiya – it’s ok to lie to promote Islam

The fear of normal sexuality

Lack of tolerance for other cultures

Lack of tolerance for each other (Muslims kill more Muslims than anyone else)

Lack of willingness to accept religious freedom for others in “Muslim” countries

I’ll think of others as time goes on, but this is a formidable list

The God I worship tells me that my enemy, Satan, comes to steal, kill and destroy. From what I’ve seen of the public face of Islam, that pretty well sums it up.

South Asian??? Let's be Honest Now!

Big news today is the Burning SUV plowing into the airport at Glasglow.

The drivers of the car are described as "Asian" in the AP report.

"It raced across the central reservation and went straight into the building," said taxi driver Ian Crosby, who was waiting outside Glasgow's Terminal One.

Crosby said a stocky Asian man had got out of the car and was quickly tackled to the ground by angry bystanders.

What do you think of when you think "Asian"? I usually think of someone of Chinese or Japanese descent.

The AP cites a BBC report that was more explicit but not much more:

"The jeep is completely on fire and it exploded not long after. It exploded at the entrance to the terminal," witness Stephen Clarkson told the BBC. "It may have been an explosion of petrol in the tank because it was not a massive explosion."

Two men - one of them engulfed in flames - were in the SUV, witnesses told BBC News executive Helen Boaden, who was at the airport at time. She described the men as South Asian.

Clarkson described him as a large South Asian man. "His whole body was on fire.... He was just talking gibberish," he told the BBC.

So now the guy is "South Asian" Let's be honest. The men who were in the ill fated SUV "bombmobile" were not some vague south Asians, but rather some of the many many 'radicalized' Muslim men in Britain who are either from the Middle East or Pakistan. Is the media really so afraid to call the truth what it is??? What about reports of one of the 'flamers' punching and shouting out "Allah".

So, the fiery SUV drivers were indeed Muslims of Middle Eastern or Pakistani origin. They are Jihadi Loser Boys who don't get their virgins (or fat raisins, depending on your translation), and there are more in the wings who are so stupidly offended at the knighthood of Salman Rusdie, the Jews kicking Palestinian Butt, and the stubbornness of infidels everywhere who hate the violence and oppression of Islam (Moderate Muslims, please, PLEASE stand up and oppose the actions of your so called brothers!!!).

The enemy is in our midst. Let's be watchful, brave and never give in to their violent ways.

Burkhas bad for your health

As a fairly conservative Christian, I understand arguments about headcovering and modesty. (I believe my long hair is my covering - so long as my hair is a little longer than my husband's :-D ) What appalls me about Fundamentalist Muslims is their lack of regard for the health of their women. Here is an article from Foreign Policy worth reading:

Are Muslim dress codes bad for women's health?

Conservative Muslim dress codes may be causing vitamin D deficiency in women by limiting their exposure to sunlight, humans' main source for the vitamin, according to new research.

Scientists had previously found high rates of vitamin D deficiency in Arab and East Indian women living in the United Arab Emirates. A follow-up study investigated the effect of vitamin D supplements on 178 UAE women, many of whom covered themselves entirely, faces and hands included, when outside their homes. Only two of the women did not have vitamin D deficiency prior to receiving supplements. The results were published by a team of scientists in the June issue of the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition.

One of the researchers concludes, "When sunlight exposure … is limited, much higher dietary intake of vitamin D is needed than currently recommended," particularly for those who breast-feed.

At least one commentator, though, is saying it's not higher doses of vitamin D that are needed, but rather, lower doses of fundamentalism.

A Side Note on Religious Freedom

Religious Freedom is one of the many blessings and benefits of being a citizen of this great country, the United States of America. Even those who come here to visit from countries that do not experience the freedoms we have benefit from those freedoms while in the United States.

Part of religious freedom is the right to choose employment in a field that accommodates your religious persuasion. If a certain day is holy or special to a person, they can choose employment that lets them have that day off. Perhaps a certain food is to be avoided by the adherents of a certain religion - not a problem! There are plenty of jobs where one can avoid the forbidden food item. Is one a teetotaler? There is abundant employment that does not require a person to see, taste or handle alcohol.

Suppose a person's employment is a service to people, and occasionally places them in indirect contact with items that are "forbidden." For example - taxi drivers. These people are paid to transport persons from one location to another for a fee. Sometimes these people have had too much to drink and need a safe ride home. Sometimes a vision impaired person will have a guide dog. If a Taxi Driver's religion prohibits them from even casual contact with booze and dogs, should that person remain in that particular job? They have a choice, don't they?

In the Minneapolis-St Paul area, this issue has again come to the forefront. Many of the predominantly Muslim cab drivers are refusing to take passengers who carry alcohol. Some refuse to assist the blind who need a guide dog to negotiate the roads. This may be a cultural clash issue, but those cab drivers should enjoy and respect the religious freedom we have here and either adapt and assimilate, or maybe find a different job.

Have a look at Little Green Footballs' comments on this article. It gives a more accurate "infidel rejection count" than Reuters did.

Indulge me. I must mention Ron Paul in this blog so his minions will continue to believe he is the most popular Republican presidential candidate when, in fact, they are spamming polls to inflate Paul's popularity and are sorely deceived. The poll that really matters, that one on the primary election day, will be a disappointment for them.

Excellent Satire

I have to give credit where credit is due for this excellent article. It is pure satire. Warning: if you are a Democrat you may be deeply offended by what you read.

Thank you, louisianaconservative, for this insightful article:

Why I am Switching to the Democrat Party (Inspired By Boasso)

It’s been hard for me to write lately, but not because of a lack of inspiration. I have been extremely inspired by Walter Boasso, the Demo switched Repub switched Demo. Like Walter Boasso who would schedule as guest speaker to Republican organizations only to back out at the last second, I too, feel that it is very inappropriate to continue pushing a conservative agenda while the issue isn’t settled whether I’d be a Republican or a Democrat.

But the time has come for me to let the public know that I have finally reached a decision and to explain that decision to the readers of Louisiana Conservative Dot Com. I am indeed, planning on switching parties. I have every intention of registering as a Democrat. It would not be fair to my readers for me to stand so strongly for conservative issues when it does not represent what I stand for.

I am still the same person I was yesterday and the day before, or last weekend, or the month before. I am still who I am, just with changes to reflect who I am when you first meet me. Other than these changes everything else is still the same, the brain is the same brain, the heart is the same heart, I did not have any organ transplants. I am still the same person.

So let me explain to you why I have ultimately decided to switch to the Democrat party. When you stop to think about it, it’s a very easy decision to make. It’s a very easy decision for any of us to make, and I’d like to encourage you to think about how easy it would be for you to switch to the Democrat party as well.

It’s much easier because I can stand for whatever I want to stand for and call it compassion. It’s easy because I can accuse people who are against “illegal immigration” as being hypocrites and anti-immigrant. I can just lump them into a single category and call them racist. It doesn’t matter what they say, because I care and they don’t.

I can hate Christians, doing everything I can to keep them out of the process, but feel very warm and caring towards a religion, in which people often tie bombs to theirselves and kill everybody who disagrees with them. Who cares if radical Muslims kill innocent people on the other side planet and who want to kill Americans for being infidels when we have Christians here who want to force people to read the Ten Commandments? Do you realize that if people read the Ten Commandments, they might actually obey them? If people obey the Ten Commandments, they might stop murdering, and if they stop murdering, there will be less executions, and if that happens, I’d have one more reason to get a job and one less reason to run around protesting. I like Tookie Williams, he wrote a children’s book. He likes telling little kids stories, in fact, I’ll bet he even read a story to those two kids before he murdered them.

Why should we try to stop Islamo-fascist from killing us? Afterall, when you stop to think about it, they are just like you and me, except with bombs tied to them and reason missing from their brains. I mean what have Muslim terrorists ever done to America? So you say 9-11? Well that really isn’t true because it was our fault for electing George Bush and we all know Bush lied, that it was really a conspiracy. Truth is, the towers never even fell. They still exist, but Bush moved the Towers to a special location because he wanted the American people to support him so he can get revenge for his daddy. George Bush gave the towers to England as payment for their support in the war and the Towers are underneath ‘Downing Street’. It’s easy to bury you head in the sand and say it was all just an illusion.

I want to say 3,000 soldier deaths is the equivalent of the 58,000 lives we lost in Vietnam. It’s the same thing. Maybe next time we get into a war, we’ll only lose ten lives before we quit. Quitting is easy. Like many of you, I want to go to war, support my country as we launch an attack onto another country, but once it starts getting bloody, I want to quit. I want to follow public opinion, worry about what other people think about me, and no matter what, always act like only my position is the only way to be compassionate. Why should we kill people just because they are going to kill us? After all, it’s not nearly as awful as those right wing christian extremist who want to take away a woman’s right to choose.

I want to put my personal interests above my country’s interests. That’s what Patriotism is. Patriotism is when a politicians thinks gaining seats in congress for his political party is more important than the well being of his country. Why would anybody think Patriotism is putting your country ahead of your own personal interests? That’s just silly to say that because if that were the case, then I’d say that Patriotism has long left this country. You’d be hard pressed to find ten congressmen out of over 500 who put this country ahead of their own political interests, and that’s not including our state officials.

I have an American flag in my home, but switching parties probably means I’m going to have to get rid of it. Like many of you had to do after 9-11, if, well when my country gets attacked again, I want to have to run out to Wal-mart and buy a flag so I can wave it around and show how ‘Patriotic’ I am. Oh, that’s right, I can’t shop at Wal-mart anymore, that would be unpatriotic. I suppose I’ll have to complain about the practices of Wal-mart, such as giving elderly people a low paying job, even though the company I work for won’t even give elderly people a job. Truth is, the real reason I must hate Wal-mart is because they donate to the Republican party and how dare they not give all their money to the Democrat party?

It’s easy to switch to the Democrat party because I want to live forever. I want to live forever and I want you to pick up the expenses of my healthcare. Why should I have to die when you have plenty of money in your pocket to pay for my doctors? Why should I live in fear of anything? I want to support every single new law that comes out, especially if I can call myself compassionate while looking out for my best interests. I want to prohibit smoking in every place, even in your own home. I want to make guns illegal. I want to accuse hunters of wanting to go hunting with an AK-47. Why do you even need a gun with real bullets to go hunting? You can go in the backyard and kill pigeons with a BB gun, it’s just as exciting and shooting deer with a bazooka.

I want to hate the rich, because it’s easy to blame them for my poverty, even though many of them came from poverty. At the same time, I want to idolize rich guys who make all the money in their country and keep everybody else poor. I want to hate George Bush for being for the rich, and for being a dictator, while praising Hugo Chavez and Fidel Castro who are the rich guys who keeps an entire country in poverty and tramples on the freedoms of the people. That too me is real democracy from now own, because I am a Democrat.

I want to be narcissistic enough to believe I am God-like, that I have the power to destroy the planet, thus have the power to save the planet. I want to worship people like Al Gore, who preach to the rest of us how we ought to live, while doing 20 times more to ‘destroy’ the planet than the average Joe. I like lecturing people, telling them to use safe lightbulbs that contain mercury, telling them to flush their toilets once a week, and to use only one sheet of toilet paper except with those occassional ‘messy situations’. I’m better than you now, so do what I say, not as I do.

I want to vote Democrat because it’s easier than getting a job. I want to sit at home everyday, watching Oprah Winfrey, Jerry Springer, and Montel Williams and collect a welfare check. I want to tell people I am a ‘Professional Daytime Talkshow Analyst’ because it’s a compassionate term. I want to take the easy way out, and blame you Republicans because I can’t find a job.

I don’t want my country helping oil companies get rich by allowing them to drill for oil anywhere. Not in Anwar, not in the gulf, not anywhere I say, I say. If we did that, than wouldn’t the supply only become more, thus driving down the price of gasoline? If we did that, then how can I blame George Bush for the high price of gasoline? And how would my new hero, Hugo Chavez, get richer and keep the people of Venezuela poor if the price of gas decreased?

I want government to solve every single one of my problems, because my problems aren’t because of my lifestyle choices, but because life is unfair. Would we be any less of a free country if government passed more and more laws? I say no. Government has a duty, not to protect our freedom, but to protect us from dying. If I make a mistake, why should I learn from it? Government should make laws to prevent you from making stupid decisions that affect my life, but it shouldn’t keep me from making stupid decisions that affect your life. For example, if I choose to stay home and smoke marijuana all day long, and make children with several different women, why should you judge me? You just need to keep your mouth shut and pay for my lifestyle choices because you have the money to pay for it. Don’t lecture me with ‘if you can’t feed em, don’t breed em’. Just pay and keep your mouth shut because I am now a Democrat. That’s what government ought to do, make you pay for my choices and stay out of my life, but to make sure you’re doing exactly what I think you ought to do.

Government ought to tell businesses how much you have to pay me, how many days I should get off, how many days off that you have to pay me for, what you can sell and when you can sell it. Government ought to regulate how you run your business and make sure that you are taking care of my needs too.

I also can enjoy sex now that I am a Democrat. Yes, you can expect me to start talking about sex. I can make judgements about people concerning sex now. As a Democrat, it’s my duty to judge Republicans because of sex. You see, I can tell people to wear condoms, love homosexuals, encourage people to ‘explore their sexuality’ and to criticize you self righteous Republicans who want to stick your nose into my bedroom. I will call myself ‘open-minded’ and run around acting like I discovered sex yesterday. I guess this means I have too start watching a lot more porn, does that mean I’d be sticking my nose into their bedrooms? Because I do this, I can be completely appalled when I stick my nose into other people’s bedroom and find out that somebody molested a child.

There are some more benefits to switching to the Democrat party. I get to talk about how much I am for love, freedom of speech, and self righteous people. At the same time I get to hate George Bush and Republicans, try to silence people I disagree with like Sean Hannity, Rush Limbaugh, Ann Coulter, even people that I normally would agree with like Don Imus. The best part about this, is that I get to do all this because I am compassionate, I care, I am intellectual, I am always right. I am perfect, and because I am perfect, the world cannot be perfect until everybody agrees with me. In the words of another one of my new found heros- John Lennon, “Maybe someday you will join us, and the world will be as one.” You see, we’re perfect, we don’t need to change. You have to change and then the world will be good.

A List We All Should Read

While I would not title this list "10 Questions for Muslims" but rather "10 Questions for Muslim Countries," This is still a list people need to consider. It is too bad that, according to question 3, half of Arab women cannot read this, and that only 1% of the population of these countries have computers - half of which have internet access (also according to question 3.)

Here is the list, and all credit goes to Jack Lacton aka Kerplunk in Australia. While I've quoted this list in it's entirety, please visit his blog. His entries are well thought out and documented.

10 Questions For Muslims

1. Why is it Oil or Nothing? The combined annual GDP of the world's Muslim majority countries is under $2 trillion. That's less than 20% of the USA even though Muslims outnumber Americans by about four to one. Their GDP is about the same as that of Germany. The GDP of the major oil rich nations of Saudi Arabia, UAE, Kuwait and Qatar combined is roughly equal to Thailand's $430 billion. Remove oil and gas from the Gulf states' exports and their export figure is below that well known exporting giant...Finland. What else do you do besides oil?

2. Why do you only account for 5% of the world's economy? How does it come about that 25% of the world's population is responsible for only 5% of the world's GDP? And that percentage is falling. Where is your industry? Where are your global companies? Where are your world-leading scientists? Heck, why are you not even any good at any sport?

3. Why are Arab nations so underdeveloped? According to the United Nations' Arab Development Report: Half of Arab women cannot read; one in five Arabs lives on less than $2 per day; only 1% of the population has a computer of which half use the Internet; 15% of the workforce is unemployed and that's expected to double by 2010; and the average growth rate per capita over the last 20 years was only 0.5% which is worse than anywhere but sub-Saharan Africa. How do you blame the rest of the world (or the Jews) for that?

4. Why don't you focus on education? The Muslim majority countries have less than 600 universities for 1.4 billion people. India has 8500 and the US 5800. In the history of the Nobel Prize, Muslim countries have produced only 8 Laureates from their billions of people. In the meantime, less than 12 million Jews have produced 167. That means it's more than 2000 times more likely for a Jew to be awarded a Nobel Prize than one of Allah's followers. In an age of increasing technological reliance how will most Muslim nations do anything other than fall even further behind?

5. Why do you do so poorly in prosperous nations? Essex University released the results of a study The incomes of ethnic minorities that showed the economic conditions of these groups in Britain. According to the report:

Pakistanis and Bangladeshis are easily the poorest groups in the country. High unemployment among men: low levels of economic activity among women: low pay: and large family sizes: these all contribute to a situation in which 60% of Pakistanis and Bangladeshis are poor. This is four times the poverty rate found among white people.

Indian and Chinese people have high levels of employment, and their earnings are on a par with white workers. On these measures they can be seen to be prospering.

The survey also concluded that Pakistanis and Bangladeshis would be poor regardless of where they lived. Given the fact that Pakistanis, Bangladeshis and Indians are the same people who had the same advantages of colonial Britain from which they were separated at the same time, why are the Indians so much more successful than the others? Indians are Hindus not Muslims. Why do Muslims do so poorly when others do so well?

6.
Why don't you denounce terrorism performed in your name? Thousands of violent attacks are undertaken in the name of Islam each year by Muslims against non-Muslims. Why do you not condemn terrorist groups like Hamas, Al Qaeda and Hezbollah? Why are there no senior Muslim figures denouncing these acts of barbarity against innocents? Instead, all that we hear is an excuse for violence and blame for the attacks placed on the victims. Why can't you tell right from wrong? When will Muslims develop societal values that don't belong in the 7th century?

7. Why are your countries not free? According to Freedom House of the world's majority Muslim nations only Mali is free. One country from around 50! 60% are not free and 38% are partly free. Why do Muslim nations account for the majority of 'not free' nations? Of the 10 worst of the worst, 7 are Islamic states. Why is this? Are you born to be in chains?

8. Why the nutty Fatwas every time someone criticises Islam? Salman Rushdie, a Muslim of Indian descent, writes The Satanic Verses in 1988 and, for his efforts, has a fatwa calling for his murder placed on him by Iranian nutjob Ayatollah Kohmeini. Why is it that all who criticise Islam get the same treatment? Ayaan Hirsi Ali, Robert Spencer, Kola Boof, Khalid Duran, Naguib Mafouz...it's a long list. Why was Hitoshi Igarashi stabbed to death in 1991? For the crime of translating The Satanic Verses into Japanese. Why can't you learn to deal with criticism like the rest of the world did about a thousand years ago?

9. Why is truth optional? What's the most popular book in Arab nations? The Protocols of the Elders of Zion. Readers may know that the book is an anti-Semitic fiction created by Russian secret police in around 1900. However, in the Middle East it's presented as fact. Ridiculous, you say. Really? The Saudi newspaper Al Madina ran a series in 2005 confirming the truth of the 'Protocols', as the book is known. The series was broken down into separate articles such as Muslims must be familiar with the Protocols in order to know how to defend themselves and The Match between the Protocols and real events is the most convincing proof of their authenticity. Shortly after 9/11 a survey of Muslim countries reported that only 18% of people believed that Muslims were behind the attacks. These days they're blaming the Jews. Last month Egyptian researcher Muhammed Al-Buheiri appeared on Nile Culture TV to claim that the Jews are still kidnapping Christian children, murdering them and using their blood in their Passover matzos. It's as if the 9/11 Truthers were in charge of news. In an environment of such lies and denial how do Muslims expect society to advance?

10. What is it with the cartoons, anyway? Why did you go crazy in February 2006 over cartoons published in September 2005? Do you people have no sense of humour? Do you not understand the irony of violence for such a trivial matter? Do you not understand the concept of freedom of expression even if you aren't allowed to practice it in your own countries? Are you so brainwashed that you don't understand the self-harm you inflict by your over reaction?

Should This Be Allowed In a Free Country?

Some disturbing news is coming out of Germany. The UPI reports that a woman who chose not to follow the faith of her parents (who happen to be Muslim) and who helps others who have made the same choice is receiving death threats. According to Shaira law, any Muslim who forsakes their faith is to receive a death sentence. This brave woman, Mina Ahadi, is asking for police protection because of the death threats.

My question is simple:

Should the adherents of a religion who believe that it is right to kill those who forsake their particular faith be allowed to remain in a free country?

The countries of Europe and the United States espouse the freedom of religion. What if the followers of a certain religion choose violent consequences for those who step out of line?

The "honor" killings that have taken place in free countries are an example. Fathers who are also the adherents of a certain religion have become dismayed that their daughters and wives don't want to be as religiously conservative as they are. Their reaction? KILL THEM! And some do!

Nowadays, adherents of a certain religion have become numerous and are emboldened to try to force their ways and laws on the countries in which they reside, demanding special favors....demanding more respect.....and becoming extremely offended when anyone speaks against them.

Should a free country accommodate a faith that aggressively and violently tries to muscle their ways on society?

Personal Update:

This article could lead some to think I am painting with a broad brush, and wish to deport all Muslims from free countries. Nothing could be further from the truth. At the same time, if there is a group that chooses the radicalized side of their faith and choose to act violently in the country which has offered them hospitality, let them be tried to the full extent of the law. Let them be stopped in their tracks and deported if necessary. Free nations cannot show weakness in this.
