How do you Boycott a President?
Our President cannot even fill secondary level Cabinet positions, let alone the top positions until recently, and Timothy Geithner works alone and inefficiently without any deputies in this time of severe financial crisis.
Thug Boy Hugo Chavez is encouraging Obama to come down the path to Socialism, but that was Obama's political background and upbringing anyways. It seems that Obama and the Congress are rapidly dismantling our nation from a Republic to a Democratic Socialist nation.
Where does it end? I know Obama was rightfully elected in this country, and I pray for him and would rather that he do well for our country, but I am viscerally opposed to his policies and philosophies. Despite what some on the left may say, this is not a race issue - it is an issue of my core values and beliefs about my country and government. I don't believe in punishing the wealthiest among us for their thrift, hard work or even good luck. I don't believe in rewarding those who persist in living in a cycle of dependency on the Government. I don't believe in wealth redistribution. I don't believe universal health care is a good idea, having lived in Europe where health care is rationed. I don't believe a nanny Socialist government is healthy for a free people.
I have written to my senator and congressman, but their namby-pamby lockstep responses are the real conspiracy theory rather than some kook ideas. I've e-mailed the President, but will he really consider my concerns? I doubt it. The only thing that will shake those droolers up ( yes Harry Teague of New Mexico, I think you are a drooler!) is to have their precious House and Senate seats threatened. That will be up to local people like you and me and we had better get on the ball.
Another thing we can do to take action is nationwide peaceful protests. I recommend looking into one of the Tea Party groups. Here is a link for the Nationwide Tax Day Tea Party. Citizens of the nation need to join together and not sit idly by! In Chile, when protesting the oppressive regime of Pinochet, the people would cry out "A people united can never be divided." Let Americans unite against the dismantling of our Nation and Government to something the Founding Fathers never intended.

Why should I pay?
Should hardworking, faithful mortgage paying Americans pay for the bailout of mortgages of those who unwisely chose a home more expensive than they could afford?
I say "Let them lose their homes and fall on their butts financially until they get it! Bad choices have bad consequences! Time to learn personal responsibility!"
Bad choices have bad consequences? Hmmmmm......Stimulus package? Bailout of banks and the car industry? Mortgage Bailout? Delayed market correction?
America, watch out! Your leaders (Congress and the President) are making bad choices!

Is it time?
Is it time to consider a new political party? The Republican party, nationally, seems to prefer being "Democrats Lite" with a strong leftward shift on policy issues from federal spending to abortion. Conservative voters have been marginalized in the primary process, and many cannot and will not vote for McCain as a matter of conscience.
I've started looking into the American Conservative Party. If things don't change in the Republican party, perhaps a strong conservative coalition will bring balance to this out of balance political situation.

Did you watch it?

I think Al Gore is an attention seeking crank who has cottoned on to global warming as a cash cow. He's like a televangelist preaching outrageous sermons to a sycophantic, unintelligent (that is what our schools produce nowadays) boot licking crowd. All televangelistic prosperity teachers work a pyramid-like scheme that has one kingpin at the top and the rest of the peons and poor suckers giving to the cause of the kingpin. Gore has used the music industry to work the young, uneducated and inexperienced masses to an environmental froth all for his own profit. And forget the fact that the musicians and bands want to give lip service to global warming while living their lavish lifestyles. Forget the fact that global warming green means money money money.
There are far better ways to reduce the dreaded carbon footprint than by attending a 'global concert' designed to line the purses of the demigods and soak the poor kids who love music and who are trying to do something right with their young lives.
You can do what we do: Grow a garden, use a wood stove in the winter for heat, don't buy designer clothes. Use your bikes when you can. Don't eat out much, and eat less processed food. Turn off the TV, video games and i pod like devices and spend time with your family, neighbors, and friends instead of the artificial and mind numbing stimulus addiction to such devices afford.
Our future plans include installing a greywater system to recycle water (important here in the Southwest, moving to a smaller house (the kids are growing up), purchasing more land to grow more food and to live simpler.
So, you can follow our example.....or Al Gore's, whose house uses more power in a month than a normal family uses in a year! We can't afford to buy off our carbon guilt like Gore can with the money from his Global Warming products!
I'm seriously glad he never won the presidency.

This post is dedicated to Ron Paul

This post is dedicated to Ron Paul and doubly dedicated to his supporters who are the persistent spammers of Presidential Polls. We know you want Ron Paul to win. Unfortunately, the relentless spamming of polls is a form of self deception when you, deep in your hearts, know that Ron Paul does not have a snowball's chance in hell of winning any presidential primary. You are delaying the day of your disappointment and distress. I suggest you find another candidate you can support - someone who believes the US is responsible for 9/11, just like Ron Paul.
For the reading pleasure of Ron Paul's supporters, I have spammed my own blog with Ron Paul's illustrious name.

More Government Welfare From Pelosi
Nancy Pelosi's latest act of entitlement is to demand that lawmakers’ adult children tag along on taxpayer-funded travel for free. And why should this be, seeing that you have to be very rich to be a member of Congress, and thus able to afford the occasional airline trip for your family members? Mike Soroghan of The Hill gives the answer:
Pelosi wants them to be able to fill the role of lawmakers’ spouses when the latter are unable to make a trip because of health issues or work commitments. What the Heck! We did not elect the spouses and adult children of lawmakers to Congress! We elected the Representatives and Senators for who they were and for their expertise and ability to make wise decisions and legislate.
Pelosi is only seeking more perks from the government. She has almost all the power she ever dreamed of having (short of being president), and she is using her power to soak the government, believing it is her due. It is part of her socialist beliefs in a cradle to grave welfare state.
Expect congressional approval ratings to continue to drop as Pelosi and her cohorts repeatedly push for more undeserved and unnecessary government benefits.

Edwards Trotting Towards Defeat
I'm so sorry to breck, oops, break it to you, Mr. Edwards. Terrorism has already started, even if you don't believe it exists.
Here is part of the article from the "New York Sun"
The plan Mr. Edwards presented yesterday — which he dubbed "A Strategy to Shut Down Terrorists and Stop Terrorism Before It Starts" — calls for a 10,000-person "Marshall Corps" to deal with issues ranging from worldwide poverty and economic development to clean drinking water and micro-lending. He said investing in those areas would shore up weak nations and help ensure that terrorism does not take root there. That, he said, would allow the country to stop potential terrorists before they even join the ranks.
I do believe the United States has been doing that kind of work for YEARS now. This is nothing new and it didn't help.
The problem with the rise in terrorism is that we have failed to address the source of the terrorism. We are dealing with a group of people who are being trained from the womb that it is honorable and glorious to kill and be killed for the sake of a totalitarian religion that suppresses and oppresses its members. Yes, I am talking about radical Islam. We have been so enamored with "multi-culturalism" and accepting all cultures as equal (even though common sense tells us that some cultures are just made to survive and thrive and treat people better than others) that we tolerated human rights abberations by certain cultures. We thought if we just left them alone, they would leave us alone. Bad move, for their culture hates the very civilization we know and love.
And Edwards wants to win them with a big flashy smile, perfect hair, and a little money and clean water??? Ain't gonna happen!!!
And you want to be President???? That ain't gonna happen either.

Not your Father's definition of Multilingualism
Don't get me wrong - she is a smart woman. Some would even say shrewd. And because of this I expect her to have a very strong command of the English language. Discovering that she considered herself "multi-lingual" because she can switch accents just made her lose political capital with me. Doesn't she realize that President Bush really "is" (and we are not talking about what the definition of "is" is) multilingual since he speaks Spanish very well. I am multilingual as a German speaker. My husband is as well, being able to communicate in Greek as well as his native tongue, English.
Now the Associated Press calls her a "... linguistic polyglot—a Chicago native turned New York resident who works in Washington and spent two decades living in Arkansas when her husband, Bill Clinton, was governor." What an ignorant farce for Hillary as well as the ignorant reporters of the Associated Press.

Giuliani is right about this: UPDATE
My question for Democrats is this - how will the Democrats deal with an enemy that is hell-bent on destroying our civilization and replacing it with a barbaric, misogynistic, intolerant, and frankly, backward theocratic civilization?? I hope they have a good answer, too, because the future of the United States of America hangs upon how this nation will vote..not just in the presidential election, but in every election.
So, Hillary and Obama have decided that Giuliani has stooped to a new low. (I think Hillary did that already by putting on the fake southern accent and singing "Ah Dohn't Git No Waays Tahrd!" for her black audience) Lets see how low they go in scrambling to give their blind "peace peace (when there is no peace)" constituents some sort of answer to the terrorism issue rather than pushing it aside.

The Cult of Bush Bashing
An almost hilarious article appeared in the Washington Post this morning. Mayan Priests are planning to "purify" sacred sites after they become "defiled" by a visit from President Bush this week.
Mayan priests will purify a sacred archaeological site to eliminate "bad spirits" after President Bush visits next week, an official with close ties to the group said Thursday. It has been almost forgotten that the Mayan culture practically destroyed themselves by barbaric practices. It was not bad spirits that destroyed the Mayan culture, but bad leadership."That a person like (Bush), with the persecution of our migrant brothers in the United States, with the wars he has provoked, is going to walk in our sacred lands, is an offense for the Mayan people and their culture," Juan Tiney, the director of a Mayan nongovernmental organization with close ties to Mayan religious and political leaders, said Thursday.
Bush's seven-day tour of Latin America includes a stopover beginning late Sunday in Guatemala. On Monday morning he is scheduled to visit the archaeological site Iximche on the high western plateau in a region of the Central American country populated mostly by Mayans.Tiney said the "spirit guides of the Mayan community" decided it would be necessary to cleanse the sacred site of "bad spirits" after Bush's visit so that their ancestors could rest in peace.
I wonder if today's Mayan priests are eating food or are clothed or have medicine provided by the technology and generosity of the United States? I wonder if they know the reason they are not part of the communist Cuban regime is because of the Monroe Doctrine? I wonder if they are aware that Bush has been more sympathetic and has built more alliances with Mexico than any president has done in the last century. He speaks almost fluent Spanish, and governed a state that was a border state with Mexico. He influenced NAFTA, which has been a blessing to Mexico and all Latin American countries.
About "persecuting" immigrant brothers and sisters - we don't machine gun down people who cross......they get three hots and a cot when they are caught and get sent back. In one piece. We do everything we can - not perfectly - to promote free trade with Mexico and all of Central and South America, because this is in the common interest of all countries . Even Venezuela which would not last a month if we did not purchase their oil. Stuff that in your pipe, Chavez!
My government engineer friend tells me about highly intelligent co-workers who state that Bush is the "worst President ever". What does that mean? Apparently they have forgotten near history. Here is a list of the 10 Worst Presidents ever by real historians - not the biased pseudo-media. Bush is nowhere near the notoriety of this group!
Bush is so often referred to as "evil," that he is the "devil" and "Hitler." He has been demonized and become the culmination of everything that is evil and wrong in the world with religious and fanatic zeal. Fantastic quotes like "Bush killed my son!" (Cindy Sheehan) , attribute almost godlike powers to a mere man. In the near future, will people use the expletive "Bush!" instead of other common expletives when they whack their thumbs with a hammer?
I am by no means a "Bush or die" person. Bush will probably go down in history as a mediocre president who entangled our nation in an unpopular war against a religiously charged irrational enemy. In the end, we hire a president to keep us safe - not to make us feel good. We need to remember this when we hire the next president.
Who will be the next religious Icon of all that is evil in the world when Bush is gone?

My Quandry
This election season is very frustrating for conservatives. I’m disappointed in the choices we have on both sides. It seems the Republicans who are running are really Democrats at heart. Additionally, very few potential candidates have any real experience in statesmanship.
This puts me in the quandary of having to possibly cross party lines to find someone with some experience whom I could trust to do the best for our country. They all say they will, but the only one with the experience necessary to be president is Bill Richardson of New Mexico. As a resident of the state of New Mexico, I’ve seen the progress he’s made in this state in education and economic growth. He has shown he knows how to run a troubled state, and I think he has the skill to run our country.
As a conservative, I know that voting for Richardson will mean a compromise of my social values, but he would do a good job as president while the Republican party finds some real conservative candidates who can communicate well, have proven experience in governance, and who are skilled negotiators who are able to win the trust of those who are of a liberal persuasion.

Why is Richardson Ignored by the Media?
People need to take a closer look at him.
Matthew Yglesias has written an informative article in The American Prospect about Richardson:
Fitting the Bill
Why isn't Bill Richardson's presidential candidacy taken seriously?

More Than a Little Presumptuous
This possibility should raise not a few eyebrows. There are several things to consider:
Isn't this presumptuous of Democratic leadership? What about the will of the people of New York? The governor of New York, Eliot Spitzer, is the one who will make the choice - not the DNC or the Clinton machine.
From the article:
So far, speculation about potential successors has focused on New York Attorney General Andrew Cuomo and environmental lawyer Robert F. Kennedy Jr., whose father once held the same Senate seat. The other concern is the compromise of the balance of powers in American government. If Hillary is chosen by the American people to be President, and Bill is appointed to finish her Senate term, there will be the appearance of nepotism. Also, will Bill's fellow senators be afraid of working with him because of the power he may wield as the husband of the President? He will never be treated like a freshman Senator. There is no precedent for this type of situation. Additionally, senators who were involved in the impeachment proceedings are still in office in the Senate. What will his relationship with them be like? In the Senate, it is necessary to work out compromises for legislation to be passed. The rules of the Senate foster a spirit of debate. Senators need a sense of collegiality to work together, and it is likely that giving Bill Clinton a Senate seat would stifle the process because of the fear and awe he would inspire. Mostly fear, unfortunately.
I would not be pleased with this situation if it were happening with a Republican presidential hopeful and spouse.
I would love to know what my readers think about this. Please leave a comment.
