Last Word on the Fairness Doctrine

Diane Feinstein was photographed leaving Congress after the Fairness Doctrine was voted down.

South Asian??? Let's be Honest Now!

Big news today is the Burning SUV plowing into the airport at Glasglow.

The drivers of the car are described as "Asian" in the AP report.

"It raced across the central reservation and went straight into the building," said taxi driver Ian Crosby, who was waiting outside Glasgow's Terminal One.

Crosby said a stocky Asian man had got out of the car and was quickly tackled to the ground by angry bystanders.

What do you think of when you think "Asian"? I usually think of someone of Chinese or Japanese descent.

The AP cites a BBC report that was more explicit but not much more:

"The jeep is completely on fire and it exploded not long after. It exploded at the entrance to the terminal," witness Stephen Clarkson told the BBC. "It may have been an explosion of petrol in the tank because it was not a massive explosion."

Two men - one of them engulfed in flames - were in the SUV, witnesses told BBC News executive Helen Boaden, who was at the airport at time. She described the men as South Asian.

Clarkson described him as a large South Asian man. "His whole body was on fire.... He was just talking gibberish," he told the BBC.

So now the guy is "South Asian" Let's be honest. The men who were in the ill fated SUV "bombmobile" were not some vague south Asians, but rather some of the many many 'radicalized' Muslim men in Britain who are either from the Middle East or Pakistan. Is the media really so afraid to call the truth what it is??? What about reports of one of the 'flamers' punching and shouting out "Allah".

So, the fiery SUV drivers were indeed Muslims of Middle Eastern or Pakistani origin. They are Jihadi Loser Boys who don't get their virgins (or fat raisins, depending on your translation), and there are more in the wings who are so stupidly offended at the knighthood of Salman Rusdie, the Jews kicking Palestinian Butt, and the stubbornness of infidels everywhere who hate the violence and oppression of Islam (Moderate Muslims, please, PLEASE stand up and oppose the actions of your so called brothers!!!).

The enemy is in our midst. Let's be watchful, brave and never give in to their violent ways.

Burkhas bad for your health

As a fairly conservative Christian, I understand arguments about headcovering and modesty. (I believe my long hair is my covering - so long as my hair is a little longer than my husband's :-D ) What appalls me about Fundamentalist Muslims is their lack of regard for the health of their women. Here is an article from Foreign Policy worth reading:

Are Muslim dress codes bad for women's health?

Conservative Muslim dress codes may be causing vitamin D deficiency in women by limiting their exposure to sunlight, humans' main source for the vitamin, according to new research.

Scientists had previously found high rates of vitamin D deficiency in Arab and East Indian women living in the United Arab Emirates. A follow-up study investigated the effect of vitamin D supplements on 178 UAE women, many of whom covered themselves entirely, faces and hands included, when outside their homes. Only two of the women did not have vitamin D deficiency prior to receiving supplements. The results were published by a team of scientists in the June issue of the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition.

One of the researchers concludes, "When sunlight exposure … is limited, much higher dietary intake of vitamin D is needed than currently recommended," particularly for those who breast-feed.

At least one commentator, though, is saying it's not higher doses of vitamin D that are needed, but rather, lower doses of fundamentalism.

"Now they're only hiring those with papers"

In Panama Beach, Florida, the authorities have developed an effective strategy for finding Illegal Immigrants.

Deputies in patrol cars pull up to a construction site in force, and watch and see who runs.

Those who take off are chased down and arrested on charges such as trespassing, for cutting through someone else's property, or loitering, for hiding out in someone's yard, or reckless driving, for speeding off in a car.

U.S. immigration authorities are then given the names of those believed to be in this country illegally.

"It's not wrong for them to run, but it's not wrong for us to chase them either," said Sheriff Frank McKeithen, who created his Illegal Alien Task Force in April to target construction sites in this Florida Panhandle county.

Apparantly Florida has a law that has been on the books for a long time: Employers are Prohibited from Knowingly Hiring Illegals. Sherriff Frank McKeithen is merely enforcing the laws that are already on the books.

In light of the Immigration Bill debacle, States already have laws that prohibit hiring of Illegals. Other municipalities legally prevent landlords from renting to Illegals. Others require proof of citizenship before getting a driver's license. Are these laws wrong or outmoded? Of course not!

Those who scream for an amnesty policy for Illegal Immigrants are among those who use minorities for political gain - The Democrats. I would dare say it should be investigated how Democrats control the majority of the black population of the United States by the multitude of promises of government help while keeping so many in a crippling welfare system and without school choice in our cities. It is a travesty! They are doing the same to the Illegal Immigrants - keeping up the promise of free bilingual education (which usually means many students will be below par in both languages), free food, health care and citizenship for their children born in this country. Social services are promised in America the land of milk and honey where Illegal families stuff themselves into cracker box houses and subsist on beans and rice.

But back to what is happening in Florida. The laws that are already on the books are being enforced, and this should be the case for all States.

Should we have a Federal Immigration Bill? Maybe not! Maybe individual states need to make their own laws and enforce them.

I'll leave you with Jose Madrid's words:

Mexican illegal immigrant Jose Madrid, 28, said he has been unable to find a construction job over the past six weeks because of the crackdown, and hasn't been able to send money to his parents and his 7-year-old son back home.

"We immigrants, we are leaving Panama City. People are afraid they will be deported," he said. "The companies don't want to hire illegal people. Now they're only hiring those with papers."

Close Encounters with What???

I am veering into the realm of religion for this blog. Those of my readers who do not ascribe to orthodox Christianity, I beg your patience.

This is a brief listing of some of the teachings of Jesse Duplantis. I've made some comments in between quotes.

“When someone dies, the opposite occurs. God is there to receive that breath of life back to Himself. When God breathes out, things come alive. When He inhales, that life goes back into Him. Think about that.” “When my mother died, I heard her breathe her last breath. God spoke to me then and said, “I just did to your mama the same thing I did to Adam.” God had breathed life into my mother when she was coming into this earth. He then received that life given breath back unto Himself as she was going out” (p.15 Heaven Close encounters of the God Kind.).

Does this mean there is no one in hell?

“I saw new lives of little babies singing and flying around God's Throne. It seemed to me that babies just came out of the breath of God. They looked like they were wearing nightgowns. They flew into the presence of Jehovah. I realized they were new souls who came from the thoughts of God. God thinks kids. Now I know why those newborn babies are so precious. Babies are gifts given to us directly from the Throne of God. I heard them saying to God, "Can I be a spirit? Would you send me to the earth so I can be a spirit? I want to be a redeemed person. Can I be a spirit?" And while I watched, I heard that mighty sound of God's power, Whooosh! I saw these babies leave the Throne by the power of God. (Heaven Close encounters of the God Kind p.119).

This sounds like it lines up with Mormon doctrine.

"I've never had the Lord say, 'Jesse, I think that car is a little bit too nice.' I've had vehicles and the Lord said, 'Would you please go park that at your house. Don't put that in front of my house. I don't want people to think that I'm a poor God.'" (Jesse Duplantis, "When Will We Yield To The Anointing of Wealth II," April 10, 2005)

Jesse Duplantis: "People told me, 'Well, they say, Jesus was poor.' When was He poor? I would like to know when He was poor. Well, He was born in a stable. Why? Why was He born in a stable? Because that short, deaf lady lost their reservation. He couldn't get into the inn. Think about that for a minute...And He had 12 full time people on His staff. Some were married and He took care of them. He had 70 part timers. You don't gamble for rags Marcus."
Marcus Lamb: "Yeah."
Jesse Duplantis: "You don't gamble for rags. You gamble for some clothes that cost. Don't you? He wanted a donkey that had never been rode. As I said earlier, 'You might want a car that has never been drove.'
Marcus Lamb: "He had a full time treasurer on staff."
Jesse Duplantis: "That's right! And stole for three years and the other guys didn't know about it."
Joni Lamb: "And wise men came to see Him."
Jesse Duplantis: "That's right! I mean He wasn't three minutes on the ground and the three wise guys are looking for Him with what? Gold, Frankincense, and Myrrh. Let me tell you something, this concept that Jesus was in poverty is totally wrong!"
(Jesse Duplantis, Marcus Lamb, and Joni Lamb, Daystar Fall, "Share-A-Thon," September 15, 2004)

By the way - the Wise men, the kings, did not get to Jesus until he was around 2 years old.

"If I give $1,000 dollars I deserve to get back $100,000 because I am just, that's not greed!" (Jesse Duplantis, December 19, 2003 TBN, "The just shall live by faith.")

Sounds like greed and excess to me!

"With fierce prayers and determination to see my mother healed, I started talking to God. "What is going on here?! I'm praying! Dad's praying! Why isn't she healed? You cannot allow death to defeat me, God. You made a covenant with me through Jesus' blood! And that covenant says by His stripes we were healed! Where is that healing? If you break this covenant with me, you'll have to cease to be God! You must keep covenant with me. You must obey your Word!" I was honest with God. He knew how I felt, so what was the point in hiding it? I was confused. I was hurt. I didn't know what else to do. That is when God spoke up, "Jesse, I have a covenant with you, yes. However, I have one with your mother as well. You are praying for her healing. She is praying in her heart for Me to take her home. Now, I will obey My Word. But you and your daddy are battling your mother's will. It is her life at stake. You have Me in a hard place, Jesse. Someone has got to give in. Get yourselves together and tell Me what I am to do! (Jesse Duplantis, "My Experience Doesn't’ Change God’s Word," Article C-Faith)
Does God really need our help to decide what to do?

I did not write this next excerpt, but it shows, just like many other passages do, how anti intellectual Mr. Duplantis is. This man was awarded an honorary doctorate, and is still dumb as a stump about many scriptural issues.

The clincher is when Jesse tells us that the name of Jehovah is used in heaven. As the angel says “You have an appointment with the Lord God Jehovah” (ibid. p.69). The angel also fell down, saying, “The Most High God Jehovah! Hosanna in the highest!” (ibid. p.70) “The great God Jehovah!” (ibid. p.81) “The angels with wings were circling the Throne, singing and shouting, “The Great God Jehovah!” (p.114) This is a BIIIG booboo on Duplantis’ part. The name Jehovah is a made up name, it is a slang word put together by a Roman Catholic monk who took the vowels and the Tetragrammaton and made a new word. Even the Jewish Encyclopedia says it is a mis-pronunciation of the Hebrew YHWH the name of God. This pronunciation is grammatically impossible. The form “Jehovah” is a philological impossibility.” (The Jewish Encyclopedia p. 160) So when Duplantis is saying the angels are praising and using this name it is just nonsense. So where was Jesse taken to?
The Forgotten Word Ministries has more info on "Dr" Duplantis. Duplantis is extensively quoted on that site.

Duplantis is a false teacher, anti-intellectual (check your brain in at the door because you will detect the false teaching in a heartbeat if you don't), and a charletan who is totally given in to the Word of Faith lifestyle where all the leaders are little kings and live that way. If you are into Orthodox Christianity, give Duplantis a wide bearth, and warn others as well.

Fanaticism Trumps Numbers and Wins

I sometimes wonder what the majority of Americans are willing to die for. Particularly when I see so many young people (and I have teenagers as well as very extensive access to the university) sliding through high school and the first few years of college without accepting the challenge of excellence or the rewards of hard work and personal self discipline. Many of these young people act as if they are the center of their own universe, and when things go wrong they blame those around them for their own failings.

Their behavior is only a symptom of what Ralph Peters calls the dream of a happy-face, godless world where nobody quarrels.

Let me put this article, which really is an article about the conflict in "Palestine," in context now.

Peters states in his article that the reason Hamas won was that they are religious fanatics willing to die for what they believe. Here's a quote:

Hamas won because its fighters are religious fanatics ready to die for their cause. Fatah runs an armed employment agency under the banner of Palestinian nationalism. Most of the latter's security men are on the payroll because relatives or ward pols got them jobs. And they want to stay alive to collect their wages.

The result was predictable. Our government pretended otherwise. Now hairs should be standing up on the backs of thousands of necks, from the White House to the Green Zone.

I look at this wide eyed passion to die for allah (lower case on purpose) and compare it to the apathy of Americans, and it does make me worry!

Our children and our current generation has been taught to "Believe in Yourself" since infancy and through television and our school system, rather than to believe in a higher purpose and a more noble calling. One's self esteem and comfort is more important than the unity and defense of the nation that gives us the freedom to live the lifestyles we enjoy. The values of our founding fathers - well - they are old fashioned and we are "more enlightened now". Bah!

As a Choral Director, I see this all the time in new choral music produced for the consumption of music programs from the elementary level through high school students. The texts are so watered down and "feel good" and do not raise the spirit of the young student to higher sights other than their own emotions and very limited experience. (Consider the fourth grade students in Maine who boldly declare that global warming is the worst problem in the whole world - even as we stand on the brink of WWIII) They speak of "putting our differences behind us" as if living in denial is going to make things better. Children sing about "looking inside" as if that will bring "light to the darkness" and solve all our world problems will bring. What are the children of the fanatics singing and chanting? "Kill America! Kill Jews! Kill Infidels!" None of this mamby-pamby "why can't we all get along" crap!

I could get off on a rant about the extreme political correctness of our government schools, but that will have to wait for another blog entry. I will say I am grateful that choral directors may still use sacred music as an educational tool as it is part of the culture of our Western Civilization.

What if a fanatical Hamas like group were to attack here - perhaps on one of our college campuses. I'm afraid we would see our young men and women cowering and screaming like children. Forgive me for this allusion, but they would be as cowardly as many students at Virginia Tech when "Hammer Boy" Cho went postal on them. (I know I'll get some flak for that statement)

We are not encouraged to be strong and brave and to face our adversaries head on, no matter what the cost. Why? Our faith is weak. Many have no faith except in themselves. I'm not trying to be an evangelical preacher, just a humble blogger. So many of us here in America, while we give lip service to words like Liberty, Freedom, Honor, Courage, Country, God, and Family, don't have enough gumption to be willing to lay it all on the line to defend what we do have.

Here's more from Ralph Peters:

Our problem is that, of those who rise in government, few have witnessed the power of revelation or caught a life-changing glimpse of the divine. They simply can't imagine that others might be willing to die for all that mumbo-jumbo. Our convenience-store approach to faith leaves us numb to the passion of our enemies.

The true believer always beats the feckless attendee. The best you can hope for is that the extremist will eventually defeat himself.

And that does leave us some hope: Fanatics inevitably over-reach, as al Qaeda's Islamo-fascists have done in Iraq, alienating those who once saw them as allies. But the road to self-destruction can be a long one: The people of Iran want change, but the fanatics have the guns. And sorry, folks: Fanatics with guns beat liberals with ideas.

Faith is the nuclear weapon of the fanatic. And there's not going to be a religious "nuclear freeze." It doesn't matter how many hearts and minds you win, if you don't defeat the zealots with the muscles.

The quoted article comes from Ralph Peters' new book, "Wars of Blood and Faith," which comes out on July 25. Yes I'm advertising for him, but he speaks truth to life. Read it and take it in. Our whole nation needs to.

UPDATE:

Separatist Graduations at UCLA??

This article got my hackles up:

John Leo

Let the Segregation Commence
Separatist graduations proliferate at UCLA.

John writes:

"But the core reason for separatist graduations is the obvious one: on campus, assimilation is a hostile force, the domestic version of American imperialism."

Here is our response to his outrageous statements. The whole article made us mad.

Are these your true feelings, John?

Graduation is not about every separatist group, nor about "community", but rather about the celebration of individual achievement and of the diversity of the various colleges attended.

What will the graduates of the separate "community" groups do when they face the real world of work and have to work with people outside of their own "clique" or "group"? Will they face trauma? We need to be able to work with people we disagree with, and, at times, with people we hate to get a job done. Too Bad! Get the job done anyways if you want to keep a paycheck.

The reason people can gather and practice their own community values, which might be diametrically opposed to my religious and cultural world views, is because, in a certain sense, there is American hegemony. These cultural values forced upon us by law such as tolerance, freedom of speech, and non violent protest are all the invention of the very America that you oppose.

Assimilation is not a bad thing. Here in this country, where we are have certain core values and the freedom to retain our cultural identity within that framework, a common language, common currency, open borders, free trade, a strong national defense, the rule of law and endless opportunity, there are many who are dissatisfied with the abundant freedoms we have here and idealistically dream of a socialist utopia - including many students at UCLA.

The attendees of these separatist graduations would be better off under a self-imposed pseudo caste system where "everyone knows their place". This marginalization is already occurring under the censorship of political correctness. Cultural diversity is a shallow disguise for maintaining prideful prejudice and bigotry within your own ethnic group. Americans are all equal under the law and require no caste system. Those who are not happy to be part of the magnanimous greatness of this country should go back home and those who claim American citizenship should just leave and find some country where they can be told what to do with their lives.

This post is dedicated to Ron Paul

This post is dedicated to Ron Paul and doubly dedicated to his supporters who are the persistent spammers of Presidential Polls. We know you want Ron Paul to win. Unfortunately, the relentless spamming of polls is a form of self deception when you, deep in your hearts, know that Ron Paul does not have a snowball's chance in hell of winning any presidential primary. You are delaying the day of your disappointment and distress. I suggest you find another candidate you can support - someone who believes the US is responsible for 9/11, just like Ron Paul.

For the reading pleasure of Ron Paul's supporters, I have spammed my own blog with Ron Paul's illustrious name.

More Government Welfare From Pelosi

I am very disappointed in the performance of our current Speaker of the House. It seems that the directions Nancy Pelosi and her cronies are trying to take Congress are disasterous, and the approval ratings for Congress is now lower (the approval rating for Congress stands lower than Mr. Bush's, at 23%) than those for President Bush. And that is no mean feat!

Nancy Pelosi's latest act of entitlement is to demand that lawmakers’ adult children tag along on taxpayer-funded travel for free. And why should this be, seeing that you have to be very rich to be a member of Congress, and thus able to afford the occasional airline trip for your family members? Mike Soroghan of The Hill gives the answer:

Pelosi wants them to be able to fill the role of lawmakers’ spouses when the latter are unable to make a trip because of health issues or work commitments.
What the Heck! We did not elect the spouses and adult children of lawmakers to Congress! We elected the Representatives and Senators for who they were and for their expertise and ability to make wise decisions and legislate.

Pelosi is only seeking more perks from the government. She has almost all the power she ever dreamed of having (short of being president), and she is using her power to soak the government, believing it is her due. It is part of her socialist beliefs in a cradle to grave welfare state.

Expect congressional approval ratings to continue to drop as Pelosi and her cohorts repeatedly push for more undeserved and unnecessary government benefits.

A Side Note on Religious Freedom

Religious Freedom is one of the many blessings and benefits of being a citizen of this great country, the United States of America. Even those who come here to visit from countries that do not experience the freedoms we have benefit from those freedoms while in the United States.

Part of religious freedom is the right to choose employment in a field that accommodates your religious persuasion. If a certain day is holy or special to a person, they can choose employment that lets them have that day off. Perhaps a certain food is to be avoided by the adherents of a certain religion - not a problem! There are plenty of jobs where one can avoid the forbidden food item. Is one a teetotaler? There is abundant employment that does not require a person to see, taste or handle alcohol.

Suppose a person's employment is a service to people, and occasionally places them in indirect contact with items that are "forbidden." For example - taxi drivers. These people are paid to transport persons from one location to another for a fee. Sometimes these people have had too much to drink and need a safe ride home. Sometimes a vision impaired person will have a guide dog. If a Taxi Driver's religion prohibits them from even casual contact with booze and dogs, should that person remain in that particular job? They have a choice, don't they?

In the Minneapolis-St Paul area, this issue has again come to the forefront. Many of the predominantly Muslim cab drivers are refusing to take passengers who carry alcohol. Some refuse to assist the blind who need a guide dog to negotiate the roads. This may be a cultural clash issue, but those cab drivers should enjoy and respect the religious freedom we have here and either adapt and assimilate, or maybe find a different job.

Have a look at Little Green Footballs' comments on this article. It gives a more accurate "infidel rejection count" than Reuters did.

Indulge me. I must mention Ron Paul in this blog so his minions will continue to believe he is the most popular Republican presidential candidate when, in fact, they are spamming polls to inflate Paul's popularity and are sorely deceived. The poll that really matters, that one on the primary election day, will be a disappointment for them.

We call this domestic violence and it is a crime

Here is the President of Al-Azhar University and Former Mufti of Egypt Ahmad Al-Tayyeb talking about and justifying wife beating. It will raise the hackles of many women who have experienced domestic violence (myself included). This man's views are not what I would ever want to become predominant here in the United States. May we be watchful and cautious and even vigilant against Ahmad Al-Tayyeb's views.

Edwards Trotting Towards Defeat

So now John Edward's national security plan is based on a 10,000 member "civillian peace corp" which he thinks will stop terrorism before it starts.

I'm so sorry to breck, oops, break it to you, Mr. Edwards. Terrorism has already started, even if you don't believe it exists.

Here is part of the article from the "New York Sun"

The plan Mr. Edwards presented yesterday — which he dubbed "A Strategy to Shut Down Terrorists and Stop Terrorism Before It Starts" — calls for a 10,000-person "Marshall Corps" to deal with issues ranging from worldwide poverty and economic development to clean drinking water and micro-lending. He said investing in those areas would shore up weak nations and help ensure that terrorism does not take root there. That, he said, would allow the country to stop potential terrorists before they even join the ranks.

I do believe the United States has been doing that kind of work for YEARS now. This is nothing new and it didn't help.

The problem with the rise in terrorism is that we have failed to address the source of the terrorism. We are dealing with a group of people who are being trained from the womb that it is honorable and glorious to kill and be killed for the sake of a totalitarian religion that suppresses and oppresses its members. Yes, I am talking about radical Islam. We have been so enamored with "multi-culturalism" and accepting all cultures as equal (even though common sense tells us that some cultures are just made to survive and thrive and treat people better than others) that we tolerated human rights abberations by certain cultures. We thought if we just left them alone, they would leave us alone. Bad move, for their culture hates the very civilization we know and love.

And Edwards wants to win them with a big flashy smile, perfect hair, and a little money and clean water??? Ain't gonna happen!!!

And you want to be President???? That ain't gonna happen either.

Open Letter to CKE Restaurants

I just viewed the Patty melt commercial and the sexual provocation in the ad is very offensive. Your target audience may be male single college students, but the commercial is too "adult" for children to watch. It is disrespectful to regular families who should be your target audience. Your food products are far better than McDonald's and other fast food outlets, so why are you resorting to offending your customer base?

We started calling Carl's Jr. "Slutburger's" since the Paris Hilton ad, and the "Pattymelt" ad has confirmed that name.

Despite the fact that you have fabulous products, I will not be purchasing any products from your company and will encourage my friends and neighbors to avoid Hardee's and Carl's Jr unless CKE can find a different way to advertise without resorting to overtly sexual imagery. Your use of sex to sell food is offensive and inappropriate.

Blog for Hurting Women

My dear friend in Dallas has started a blog for hurting women in the process of restoration. She says she writes for "The woman sitting all alone without hope thinking life has played a cruel trick with her.... I have been her and, praise the Lord, without people to pray for me would still be her."

Here is the site: Trading My Sorrows

She is a very good writer with great insights. I hope you will benefit from her words.
